Trading The SPFL Part Two: Weekend 8/9 September

Continuing on from our previous recommendations (which you can find HERE) we can add two further trades to this weekend’s round of fixtures.

The first puts me in solid agreement with my colleague Colin at Scottish Football Tips – Stirling Albion at home to Clyde.

The Binos were in devastating form prior to the international break and if they can continue that then they will be in with an excellent chance of maintaining their 100% start to the season.

Darren Smith and Callum Morrison have been particular standouts, but the whole side Dave Mackay has built there is very impressive – strong, experienced, pacey and clinical. Clinical is a key word here as Clyde are extremely vulnerable at the back.

Going forward they are very much liable to score with David Goodwillie in their ranks, but from the midfield backwards they are not impressive. Stirling have a lot of pace and far too much of an attacking threat for them to be priced at odds against here. Take it while you can.

Our next trade is Queen of the South (Draw No Bet) away to Livingston.

Both these sides have started the season in fine fettle, but in the last few weeks Queens have really started motoring. Many will put it down to Stephen Dobbie and his return to tip top form. But a lot of credit must go to the manager who has now found what seems to be the right formation that allows the team on the park to flourish. Dobbie is the main man, but others are now contributing in a positive manner.

The prices here are a little out of line and it’s much more like a 50-50 encounter so at 2.25 (Marathon Bet) and 2.10 in some other places then it is worth an interest.
