Trading Scottish football every week with Scottish Football Tips

Two late goals conceded by Stirling Albion were the difference between profit and loss last week. But that's the game and losses are part of it. It was our first losing weekend (site wide too) for some time so we have to take the rough with the smooth.

Pushed for time this week so the rationale on our selections will be limited but all selections have gone through the usual process.

Trading The Scottish Premiership

Hearts will be smarting after losing a late and calamitous goal to drop all three points at Motherwell. A defeat was ill deserved in what was a barnstorming game against the Prem's in form team.

St Mirren will be buoyed by their 2-2 draw in Aberdeen. But having scored from their only two shots on target they had a conversion rate that will be hard to match.

Hearts can be taken to win this game at a price of 1.57 (4/7) but there is no harm in taking a -1 asian handicap at 2.0 (1/1). They ought to have the bit between their teeth as they continue to push for a European place.

A 1.5% of bankroll investment is worth taking on.

Kilmarnock travel to Livingston struggling for a win but lets be fair. They have played Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts  in their last five games. Most teams would struggle for a win there and their performances have hardly been shabby.

Livi are actually in worse form with just one goal scored this year. Their early season form has truly deserted them now as the reality of life at the top level bites.

There is some value on the away side and although the price is low we can take 0.0 asian handicap (DNB) for a sizeable investment.

2.5% of bankroll at 1.7 (7/10) certainly qualifies.

Trading The Scottish Championship

Backing against Dunfermline saw us came up a cropper last weekend and once again the market steamed into them when prices were released on Sunday. But my structure says the price on Ayr Utd has drifted too far and the home side are now worth a trade at 2.2 (6/5).

The Honest Men did everything but score in their 0-0 draw at a stuffy Morton last weekend. While Dunfermline still struggle for goals the likes of Shankland will start converting the numerous chances they are still creating.

A 1% of bankroll investment is sufficient on this one. We are right on the edge though. Anything below 2.2 should be steered clear of.

Elsewhere Partick Thistle have value attached in their home match v Ross County. The league table certainly lies here with Thistle looking far better since signing Saunders, McMillan, Harkins, Cardle et al.

Unbeaten in 2019 The Jags have won five on the spin with last weekend's victory over a dogged Alloa perhaps their best performance to date.

A price of 3.6 (13/5) is still available but we're better taking +0.25 asian handicap at 2.05 (21/20). Avoid defeat and we're on to a winner for a 2% of bankroll investment.

Trading Scottish League Two

In League Two there are couple of sides sitting right on the edge of being tradeable. Both Stirling Albion and Queens Park are at home to odds on favourites but you could easily argue neither of them should be odds on.

My plan here is to wait until Saturday and hope the market puts too much faith in the favs giving us an opportunity for a late trade or some inplay action.

If a late trade does occur we will post it on our Telegram messaging app group which is worth joining as it has instant notifications of any late action. Like Cowdenbeath last night who we took for 2% of bankroll at 1.85 (17/20) after a late drift.
