Trading Scottish football every week with Scottish Football Tips

We had an interest in just the one match last weekend but it returned at a price of 2.75 (7/4) for a sizeable 3% of bankroll investment. We also had a winner on Falkirk suggested in our inplay messaging group on Sunday when prices were released.

It's worth reiterating the point about our inplay group and the heads up on early prices that, more often than not, have gone before Tuesday/Wednesday when we get around to the trading previews.

We don't record them as official tips unless the price holds for at least 24 hours. Reason being our records should only indicate selections that are, for the most part, steady and available to most of our members.

But they have done really well since the turn of the year. As has our trading selections with double figure growth so far in 2019. Here's hoping this continues into this weekend.

Trading The Scottish Premiership

The Scottish Premiership is always the most difficult place to find value but that doesn't mean it is never to be had. This weekend Dundee travel to a Livingston side shorn of goalscoring confidence.

They are yet to find the net at all in 2019. Quite the statistic. While last weekend saw them eek out a good point at Hearts their four previous matches ended in defeat.

Meanwhile Dundee are in their best form of the season. A missed penalty at the death saw them drop two points in a solid home performance against a the highly rated Kilmarnock. The weekend before an injury time goal saw them drop two once more at Hamilton. But the win looks like it's coming.

Scott Wright, Ryan McGowan and Craig Curran are good additions who know the lay of the land while a host of others have been loaned up from England's lower tiers. It's a big turnover in the squad but a turnaround was needed and so far the signs are encouraging.

A price of 4/1 for an away win is too high and we can take Dundee with a +0.75 asian handicap at 1.85 (17/20) for 1.5% of bankroll.

Trading The Scottish Championship

Inverness were ninety seconds away from dumping their Highland rivals and Scottish Championship leaders out of the cup on Monday night. They have also beaten Ayr Utd twice in 2019. Home and away.

So a trip to Dunfermline should hold no fear for them as they push to hold onto that last playoff spot. Indeed, a couple of wins on the spin could have them knocking on Dundee Utd's door in third. And Utd still fancy their chances of winning the league outright so nothing is to be discounted.

Dunfermline have been flattering to deceive all season. A strong squad is at their disposal but they have never gelled save for the odd good win in five. They remain just three points above automatic relegation and twenty-three games into their league season that is one heck of an indictment.

It was enough to see Alan Johnston get his jotters and his replacement, Stevie Crawford, doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence. Loan signing Bruce Anderson should bring goals but Keena and Martin have gone in the opposite direction.

They are another side yet to win in 2019 and got absolutely rollicked by Fife rivals Raith Rovers in the cup.

We can take ICT with draw no bet insurance here at 2.5 (6/4) for a 2% of bankroll investment.

Trading Scottish League Two

Elgin City returned from their trip to Albion Rovers last weekend with a fine 0-3 win in the bag. But they were up against Scottish football's lowest scoring side. Perhaps the only side unable to take advantage of Elgin's defensive frailty.

Stirling Albion have no such concerns. Darren Smith has scored seven times since returning from injury in early December and on loan Dylan Mackin has six since he joined in November. Between the two of them they are frightfully strong attacking options.

With the last playoff place firmly in their sights a new confidence has taken hold of Forthbank. Five wins in their last six matches is testament to the turnaround Kevin Rutkiewicz has made and they aren't showing many signs of stopping.

They are overpriced for their trip up north and we can take them with draw no bet insurance at 2.05 (21/20) for 1.5% of bankroll.
