Trading Scottish football every week with Scottish Football Tips

Hit and miss results last weekend but happy to take the small loss all things considered. A couple of the selections may have been slightly off the mark but we should expect some missed darts at the early stage of the league season.

The good news is a new season of stats are now being collated which should help us in our aim to find a distinct edge. By week ten of the SPFL league season we should have a very strong grasp of team strengths and weaknesses.

Also worth noting a lot can still change in the next few weeks as a number of sides utilise the loan markets. As mentioned before a few good loans can change a team's fortunes in Leagues One and Two. So we still need to keep ears to the ground for a few weeks yet.

For the weekend ahead we have just a couple in terms of actionable investments with some of my favoured sides early on still providing opportunities. As the weekend draws nearer we may update with one or two more.

Trading Scottish League One

First up is Falkirk who have added to their squad this week. Louis Longridge returns to the club to the acclaim of fans who were sorry to see him leave at the beginning of last season. In what may be their final signing of pre season Lewis Moore joined on loan from Hearts.

But what's already there is enough to have plenty of faith in them seeing off Dumbarton with some comfort. Defensively solid with an attack line that could be devastating once up to speed we can favour a handicap at home to Dumbarton too.

Falkirk to win with a -1 asian handicap at 1.88 is good enough for a 3% of bankroll investment.

Trading Scottish League Two

Elgin City are once more on our radar for their trip to Annan on Saturday. Elgin have started the season superbly by dominating games, keeping clean sheets and being on point in the goalscoring department.

Russel Dingwall has been scoring from an attacking midfield role. Meanwhile the striking partnership of Kane Hester and Shane Sutherland has been lighting games up. Sutherland already has seven goals this season with Hester trailing behind with just three in five games.

Another good win over Hibs Colts in the Challenge Cup midweek should keep their confidence hight for a game against an overrated Annan Athletic.

A chunk of value remains on the visitors and we can take them with a +1 European Handicap at 2.1 (11/10) for 2.5% of bankroll.

*NOTE: Anyone who followed the early value alert advice of 2% on 0.0 AH at 3.25 (9/4) need not invest anymore.
