You can't fail to admire the job Tommy Wright continues to do with St Johnstone.

A measure of their consistency is their price to win this game on Saturday. Their odds are representative of one of the Scottish Premiership's leading lights. They are essentially the same as Hearts and Aberdeen this weekend.

And that is fair when you look at their form heading into this game. They have played both Aberdeen and Hearts twice already this season. In those four matches they have lost just once. And it took a very late goal in Pittodrie to make that happen.

Hence their very short price but I would urge a large degree of caution. And that's despite the fact that Aberdeen, Hearts, Thistle and Ross County have all failed to score against them. That's despite the fact that only Celtic have won here in six matches this season.

It is despite a lot of factors that rightly point to the Perth Saints being one of the country's top sides. But they are never far from landing with a bump. Also, Kilmarnock are often the side to do just that.

After eight games last season they were sitting on the same fourteen points. On returning from smashing Aberdeen 1-5 at Pittodrie they followed it up by losing at home to bottom of the table Partick Thistle.

After bouncing back with five wins from six they then went on a near fatal run of just one win in ten league games. My point being that keeping up the level of performance they have been showing is a difficult ask for the quality of player they possess.

As a result they should not be priced up at 4/7 against any side at this level. They simply aren't that far ahead. The value here is on Killie's side.

St Johnstone are favourites at 1.57 (4/7) with Betfred and shortening across the board. Kilmarnock are available at 6/1 with McBookie. They are also best price for the draw at 4.4 (17/5).

Both teams to score is unlikely and deserving of the 1.95 (19/20) from bet365. But it is prefarable to the 1.86 (6/7) for +2.5 goals from Marathon Bet.

The value is with Kilmarnock so taking them on the handicaps wouldn’t be a bad option. But I really like the look of Kilmarnock to score +0.5 team goals at 1.67 (4/6) across the board.
