Our Scottish Premiership Tips have been consistently profitable for the past two seasons since they were devised. As the name suggests they are interested in the game(s) of the weekend (occasionally midweek too) from the SPFL Scottish Premiership.

Hearts v Celtic

Saturday 11th August - 12:30

In December of last year Celtic's claim to invincibility came crashing back to Earth with a 4-0 battering at Tynecastle.

It came amidst a gruelling run of fixtures for the Scottish Champions. The trip to Tynecastle was their ninth game in twenty-eight days which included defeats to PSG and Anderlecht in the Champions League.

While eventual defeat was certain, after fifty-six Premiership matches without one, the manner of it was surprising to everyone.

Although Celtic have since avenged that defeat with two 3-1 wins the continual outbursts of Craig Levein mean this match ought still to have an edge to it.

This current Hearts side, which has seen a lot of changes, look to be a step above the side that chugged to a top six place last season. After a slow start in the League Cup they scored fourteen times in their last three matches.

Meanwhile this game comes sandwiched in between Celtic's two most important matches of the season so far. Whatever happens in tonight's Champions League first leg against AEK Athens the Celts are sure to have one eye on the return.

All of this while their perpetual defensive issues remain extant. Boyata is yet to start after his World Cup exertions. Lustig has just the one game under his belt. Jozo Simunovic should be in line for a return midweek alongside Kieran Tierney who was deputised by Callum McGregor at the weekend.

But it remains the one area of the team Celtic fans are unhappy with. And it remains the one area of the field opponents feel they can get at.

As I mentioned Hearts appear to be a more dynamic side than last season. They appear to have more threat in forward areas and they certainly have players who know how to get at Celtic.

Matches between the sides are usually adorned with goals, too. So although there appears to be a wee hint of value in Celtic's current WDW price goals look like the best option this time around.

Backing both teams to score is venturing close to odds against and anything at 1.9 (9/10) or above appears to be worth a small investment.
