Expert betting tips from Scotland's lower leagues and across the whole of Scottish football.

Hi all readers and subscribers at Scottish Football Tips.

Enjoy a happy festive season and I hope your punting goes well. Remember !!!! IMPORTANT !!!! if you are on holiday and have some extra free time, watch markets closely, keep your own notes and if any major shifts, the other side often becomes a bet.

Gave you an example of the unders and overs in Aberdeen v Livingston game last week. Another late one Friday/Saturday last weekend. Edinburgh City had been 4/7, 8/15 all week to beat Elgin.

We knew after Tuesday's draw against Peterhead that Edinburgh were missing 7 top players and had other doubts. Bookies saw this and the price went 8/13 then 4/6.

What they fail to realise is Edinburgh City have the Best pool of players in league 2 bar none and that Elgin (Saturday's opponents) had 1 or 2 problems of their own. When the price went 8/11 I played and took the -1 goal at 21/10.

Guys another great example of market watching. Defo does not mean success after success but systems can be beaten.

On to this week.

Arbroath at 2.0 (1/1) is the play for 2/3rd your usual stake and a 1/8th single on -1 goal at 3.6 (13/5). (ED: 1.33% of bankroll on the home win and 0.25% on the -1 handicap. Also taking Arbroath -0.5 asian handicap with McBookie pays out a smidgeon more than even money).

Not massive value, not a banker but solid shout in a league they have absolutely dominated. Face nearest challengers Raith Rovers who have been fairly consistent themselves but still trail the Gayfield side by 13pts.

To be fair Arbroath have been fairly lucky with injuries, only using 19 players, one of those has left club leaving 18. Gaffer has indentified a couple of January targets to bolster squad.

Strong areas are defence and up top, midfield is probably the area they need to strengthen. Bobby Linn at 33 is as fit and sharp as ever putting extra sharpness down to regular boxing training.

Back 5 are all playing well and know each other's games well. Also hearing that there is a crop of young talent close to breaking through. Good times to be an Arbroath fan.

Raith are only full time team in the division, but average start while poorly managed left them with lots to do. Couple of defenders playing out of position and a much changed midfield and front line has shown a lack of consistency.

Arbroath had 7 players play all 1st 12 games. Raith had 3 and used 23 players. Nisbet is dangerous and improving. Lewis Vaughan has had a nightmare spell of injuries but close to a return.

They would be my Fav's to win playoffs ( certainty to be in top 4 ) but they are well behind our picks in most departments and can be got at. A solid bet for our last shout before Christmas.
