Scottish Even Money Double 2nd March

The Scottish Even Money Double is a proven winner across multiple seasons. Selections can be taken from across the whole of Scottish football

Scottish Even Money Double Preview

A missed first half penalty and at least one goal disallowed cost us last weekend. The story of the season for the EMD which continues to struggle to gain any traction.

But that's part of the game and we can't bemoan a run of bad luck when we know it can just as easily fall on our side too. It's the long term that counts and we are still well in front.

This weekend I am taking two dogs to outperform expectations against overrated favs.

Scottish Even Money Double Selection 1 - Airdrieonians v MONTROSE (+2 HANDICAP)

Montrose are a well organised side who never make it easy for anyone. So much so only Raith Rovers and Arbroath have beaten them by more than one goal on the road since August.

But this selection is about opposing Airdrie as much as placing faith in the away side. The Diamonds may finally be feeling the Iain Murray effect. Just one point has been earned in their last five matches. Made worse by coming up against three of the bottom four sides in that spell.

They've also drawn three blanks. Which makes a mockery of their decision to allow top scorer Joao Victoria to leave for Stranraer. McIntosh and Duffy still have goals about them but if either or neither of those are firing they have precious few options.

There is a tough run in ahead for a side venturing dangerously close to the relegation places. That in itself may bring added pressure. They'll have a tough time dispatching Montrose who ought to be looking above them to the playoff places.

On bet365 take the Montrose +1.5 Asian Handicap option

Scottish Even Money Double Selection 2 - Peterhead v ELGIN CITY (+0.5 TEAM GOALS)

I for one thought Elgin losing Shane Sutherland to Peterhead may have been catastrophic. Their former talismanic striker was on double figures this season and by some distance their most prolific goalscorer. He is already off the mark for his new club too and life without him was beginning to look bleak.

But they have scored fourteen goals in the five games since he left. And none of the results those goals have garnered (three wins and two draws) ought to be considered fortunate. Albeit some of them required stirring last gasp comebacks.

Point being they appear to have enough about them to trouble Peterhead. Despite The Blue Toon having an admittedly solid defence Elgin are on form and just a bit underrated for this match.

On bet365 take the Peterhead No Cleans Sheet option.
