Both sides are in exceptional form. We can chalk Aberdeen's disappointing cup result last weekend down to rustiness after a three week break. To be fair Killie were far from their best in their home win over Forfar.
But back in league action midweek and both sides turned in excellent results. Eamonn Brophy got up to double figures for Killie in a superb 2-1 win over Rangers. Meanwhile former Killie darling Greg Stewart got one for Aberdeen in a 0-3 win at Hamilton. Sam Cosgrove continued his fine scoring form by grabbing the other two.
The Dons in particular look to have plenty of attacking threat right now. Cosgrove, Mackay-Steven, McGinn and Stewart is just one of the possible attacking combinations Derek McInnes has at as his disposal.
And Killie have firepower too despite losing Stewart to Saturday's opponents. Jordan Jones showed on Wednesday he has every intention of continuing his form until the end of the season before he leaves for Rangers.
Brophy is in fine goalscoring form and looks to be getting better as the season progresses. But their goalscoring potential is not limited to individual players exemplified by them failing to score just once in their last twenty matches.
The top of the table clash element would be the only concern when it comes to goal production. But head-to-head history is very much in our favour and the main concern, the price, offers plenty of opportunity too.
