Scottish Even Money Double Preview

A good winner last week with the stats very much falling in our favour. This weekend we have a chunk of value in a couple of teams who have very enticing draw no bet prices and are well worth taking a chance on.

Another winner here and we can confidently predict the bad run of form from the tail end of last year has finally passed. Which hopefully sets us up for a good run in to the close season.

Scottish Even Money Double Selection 1 - FORFAR (DRAW NO BET) v Stranraer

Forfar got another excellent win last week at Dumbarton. It was touch and go whether top scorer John Baird would feature but he made the team and made an impact.

The former Falkirk striker is now the third highest scorer in the league with ten goals, all but three of which have come in his last nine games. He has found his feet at this level and his shooting boots are on.

The win keeps them in pole position in the race for the last playoff place with third placed East Fife very much in touching distance.

Home form has been a key element with only league leaders Arbroath escaping from here with anything better than a defeat in the last six matches. That was a close run thing, too, and even they conceded the seemingly obligatory minimum of two home goals.

Although Mark Hill returning to Celtic is a blow to the midfield there is plenty still in hand to cause Stranraer problems.

Stranraer will come here knowing a win brings them right back into contention for the playoffs. But they will need to tighten up a defence that has been giving away far too many chances.

In their last thirteen matches they have conceded more shots and shots on target than any other team in the league.

Scottish Even Money Double Selection 2 - Queens Park v EDINBURGH CITY (DNB)

You can be forgiven for thinking the wheels have come off City's bus. After the capitulation at Berwick Rangers when they conceded two injury time goals to blow a 0-2 lead they went on to lose at home to Stirling Albion.

But there is no long term malaise there. The squad remains strong and more than capable of beating a Queens Park side who have now failed to win in eight matches.

The Spiders are in a dreadful run of form with last weekend's late and scrambled 2-2 draw with Albion Rovers merely exemplifying that. The previous home game saw them hammered 0-4 by Elgin City. Failing to score against Elgin? Very few teams manage that.

Against a City side who will be ready to knuckle down after receiving a lucky break last weekend with Peterhead also losing they ought to be in for a tough old time.

Odds against on an away win is very generous.
