It’s time to stop what you’re doing to give thanks to the lord for he hath delivered.

Last week I commented on how the bookies had finally cottoned on to the both teams to score machine that is Saint Johnstone. I truly thought the gravy train had ground to a halt on a buckled track.

The Perth Saints duly delivered, as is their way, and I envisaged a price cripplingly low for Friday night’s encounter. Especially considering both teams have scored in Dundee’s last seven matches to compliment the Saint Johnstone goal gluts.

I looked at the price on Tuesday and saw quotes of 1.8(4/5) and was overjoyed. I couldn’t believe that the bookies were going to give the punters one more shot at value.

Tommy Wright and his Perth Saints look likely to cover a both teams to score bet on Friday night live on BT Sport from the scottish premiership

Tommy Wright and his Saint Johnstone side look happy in their skin right now.

I looked again on Wednesday morning and what I saw was enough to bring me, a lapsed Christian and avowed atheist, back to the alter. It’s a burning bush moment, a scarcely believable illusion but I reach out my hand and it’s there. It is real.

Somebody somewhere has lost the run of themselves on this one (it may well be me). Somebody somewhere will be taking a dressing down for this one. Everybody, everywhere should take advantage of their mistake.

Lets remind ourselves of the stats, should we need to. Both teams have scored in all but two of The Saints’ games this season. One of those games was way back in July in the sweltering Armenian heat with a decimated side.

The other was up at Inverness when ten man Saint Johnstone somehow managed to claim a last minute 0-1 win. That’s seventeen out of nineteen games that have seen both teams score. I challenge you to find a team with a better record.

My other favourite both teams to score side is Dundee. They have seen both teams score in twelve of their last fifteen games and all of the last seven.

For reasons of caution I will point out that the last three meetings at McDiarmid have seen single goal games. Does that bother me on this occasion? Given this season’s form, not in the slightest.

The price on both teams scoring is 1.94(47/50) with 888Sport. This is a price that for my mind cannot last. It is slightly out of kilter with the 1.8/1.83 from other firms but even that price looks high for my money.

I will be playing with a slightly higher stake than normal due to the perceived value on this one. I will also be having a pop at +3.5 goals at a price of 3.7(27/10) with McBookie. I think this game smacks of goals.

On the WDW markets the home side look nicely priced at 1.92 with McBookie. Those who like a both teams to score and win bet could do much worse than backing The Saints at 3/1 with bet365 and McBookie.
