Livingston Morton Betting Preview

Ladbrokes Scottish Championship

Location: Toni Macaroni Arena

Date: 1st March 2016

Time: 19:45

It was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s show for Morton with a 3-2 defeat to Raith Rovers on Saturday.

It came after they blew the wheels of Hibs’ Championship bid with a fine 0-3 win at Easter Road. That win was their seventh away game without defeat so the defeat to Raith, while not unheralded, was a little bit surprising.

It was very galling for Jim Duffy as they looked like they had salvaged a point (twice) after equalising in the eighty-seventh minute. A lack of concentration is getting the blame for the concession of a winning goal and a gap in the race for the final playoff spot.

With Raith playing at Ibrox The Ton have the chance to close to gap again to a single point and they won’t get many better chances than this. While Livi had a fine win at the weekend a certain amount of context needs to be applied.

The win came over Alloa who, lets face it, are rock bottom for a reason. They have been applying themselves better in games of late but rarely end up with anything to show for it. And that was Livingston’s first win for ten games.

With Morton’s away form even better then their home form there is every reason to believe that they will not lose this game. Unless Livi can pull only their second home win of the season out of the bag and the prices are definitely in our favour.

Mortton are ever so slight favourites for this game at a best 2.7 (17/10) with Marathon Bet and I think they should be a fair bit shorter, particularly as they are going for their third win over Livi this season. The home side are a best 2.75 (7/4) with William Hill while the draw is best priced at 3.6 (13/5) with Marathon Bet.

Backing Morton with Draw No Bet insurance is more than enough to tempt at 1.98 (49/50) with Marathon Bet. A draw will see your stake returned and if I am on the right track it looks like offering a wee bit of value.

Both teams to score could have a chance at 1.8 (4/5) with bet365 while +2.5 goals has appeal at evens with Paddy Power, Skybet and bet365. But it’s hard to look past the price on Morton.
