Dundee and Caley Thistle can lay claim to being two of the most in-form sides in the league.
Dundee have kept four clean sheets in a row and their home form is even better. They have won five of their last six at Dens park scoring an impressive eighteen goals thanks to the man on everyone’s lips right now, Kane Hemmings.
Hemmings is being touted as a player of the year candidate and that’s hard to argue against given his nineteen goals. He has more than goals to his game with strong running and the ability to bring others into the game also in his armoury but it’s his finishing that is most of note.
And it’s not as if they are light up top if Hemmings isn’t there. Greig Stewart is still one of the best attacking players in the league even if he is playing second fiddle this season. Rory Loy has plenty of ability of his own and you could say that Gary Harkins is a new player since being handed the captains role last month.
The Caley Jags have been steadily climbing the table after a slow start to their season. A point on Saturday could get them back into the top six and it would be a well earned berth after beating Aberdeen and performing very well at Celtic Park.
John Hughes has continued to showcase his tactical nous and his latest set up that involves playing Storey and Roberts as very wide forward players has paid dividends. The set up has relied on midfield players getting forward quickly to spearhead the attack but it has looked effective in the last two games.
Against the attacking whirlwind that is Dundee he is likely to employ a similar style. It gives them a counter attacking threat that Dundee could struggle to content with which opens the possibility of both teams scoring in this one.
