Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership

Dundee might have half fancied their chances here but not now they are facing a wounded animal.

Last weekend, for only the second time this season, The Hoops dropped points. Feeling hard done by won’t change matters. Until the ghost of The Rangers draw is exorcised The Celtic lion will be limping around with a thorn in a paw. The Dee might end up being the stick they use to extricate it.

Hard times for Dundee who remain perilously close to the relegation places while still tantalisingly within touching distance of top six safety. Games against Celtic won’t determine that fate. But with Aberdeen and Hearts also in the offing any bonus points would be a boon.

I am going to put my neck on the line and say Dundee won’t make the top six. They are three points behind Thistle who occupy that berth. The most I see them picking up in their five remaining pre-split games is six points and that’s with a bit of luck.

Such has been Celtic’s phenomenal season their dropping of two points is a major story. It will stick in their craw that a winning run of twenty-two league games has come to a halt. The last time a Scottish side avoided defeat to Celtic they bounced back by knocking Kilmarnock for six, literally.

Hence there is a great deal of confidence in a Celtic win here. But, frankly, the prices should make you baulk like a gazelle from an oasis surrounded by lions. Although that is likely what Dundee will be facing. Wounded pride. A wounded pride. Desperate to quench their thirst.

DUNDEE V CELTIC BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS BETTING ANALYSIS

Celtic are no higher than 1.22 (2/9) on the WDW markets which is ridiculous. As a result the handicaps are barley worth consideration. I'm not even going to bother.

Unless you fancy a look at Dundee. The home side with a +1.5 Asian Handicap is priced at 2.32 (25/19). Celtic would need to win by two clear goals to bust that bet. To be honest I don't fancy it but price wise it might be as good as it gets.

With Celtic having ten clean sheets in their last fifteen games and Dundee drawing a blank in their last two you would need to be brave to back both teams to score at 2.3 (13/10).

Perhaps we can anticipate a rear guard action from Dundee which may keep goals to a minimum. Hence backing Under 3.5 goals looks the best option on the goals markets. Although the returns look meagre at 1.66 (33/50).

The best betting advice I can give for this game is to look elsewhere. Or follow @FitbaTipsInplay for some inplay action.
