Celtic will need to rely on a very good bounce back record after their disappointing defeat to Ross County on Sunday.

They couldn’t have asked for a more difficult task than a midweek away trip to Aberdeen but in some ways that may be a good thing.

Professional footballers and managers constantly refer to the next game being the best way to forget about a previous defeat. The Dons at Pittodrie is as difficult as it gets for Celtic domestically so they will have to forget about another treble slipping by and focus hard on this game.

A win for the Dons would see them close the gap at the top to just three points and that fabled title challenge would be very much back on. It would also ensure even more sleepless nights for Ronny Deila as the criticism begins to creep in again from all corners. A win in Aberdeen would go some way to easing the pressure even if it is no more than momentary relief.

Celtic have an excellent away record this season with six wins from seven since losing 2-1 to Aberdeen in September. They have scored in all but two of their last fifty-five away matches in the SPFL Premiership and this season have scored in the first half of every game.

Aberdeen v Celtic Betting Preview Betting Odds

Celtic had drifted a little in the betting but are coming back in now with 1.8 (4/5) the best available from Skybet, William Hill and Coral. Aberdeen are available at 4/1 with Betfair while the draw is best priced at 3.9 (29/10) with McBookie.

With Celtic winning at half-time in eight of their elevenPremiership away matches this season there should be interest in a price of 2.75 (7/4) for Celtic to be winning at half-time and full-time with Ladbrokes, Coral and McBookie.

I am plumping for the bet that has come in in every away game in the league this season. As mentioned above Celtic have scored in the first half in every away match and that pays out at 1.73 (8/11) with Betfair. With the weather still very unpredictable I am playing with a lower stake then normal.
