Stirling Albion v Montrose Betting Preview
Ladbrokes Scottish League 2
Date: 9th February 2016
Montrose have the unenviable tag of one of the worst away records in senior football.
They have won just twice in their last twenty-five away league matches and that record gets even worse if you include the cups. Away to an improving Stirling Albion nothing more than a home win looks to be on the cards.
The Binos recent record doesn’t include many wins of their own but picking up draws at Arbroath and at home to Queens Park and Inverness are worthy of mention. They have also beaten Elgin, East Fife, Arbroath and Annan at home this season and they are all in the top five places in league 2.
Montrose’s one away win this season is unlikely to improve against a side who have lost just once in their last nine home games. Stirling should be strong favourites for this tie, very strong, so I was caught very much by surprise when checking out the prices this afternoon.
Stirling Albion v Montrose Betting Preview Betting Odds
Stirling opened up as high as 1.91 (10/11) but that was quickly snapped up. You can still get 1.9 (9/10) with Marathon Bet if you’re quick but the best elsewhere is 1.83 (5/6) with McBookie. That’s a price that is still well worth taking in my opinion.
Paddy Power are offering 3.3 (23/10) on Stirling Albion -1 goal and that should be considered if you’re looking for a meatier price. Personally I am going to settle for the 1.9 price and will be happy for that to come in.
