Stirling Albion v Inverness Betting Preview
William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round
Date: 9th January 2016
Anyone looking for a cup upset might well have to look elsewhere on Saturday.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle are a team on the up having avoided defeat in their last five games, winning three of them. They have managed to score twelve times in those games and while they have conceded a few they came against much better opposition than Stirling Albion.
Lets not forget that John Hughes and his team are the holders, the champions, and they will remain the champions until next May. Of course there are plenty of examples of champions ignominiously bowing out the next year but I don’t see it happening this time.
The Caley Jags are back in the top six of the Scottish Premiership and that is exactly where they will feel they belong. Their hopes for a final top six place where boosted yesterday with the news that they have extended the loan stay of striker Miles Storey until the end of the season.
The Binos were relegated back into Scottish League 2 this season and found the going tough in the early stages. Having spent the first few months near the bottom they have turned their season around and are now three points off the playoffs in fifth place.
After winning seven times in eight matches their form has slumped again. Two defeats in a row to East Fife and East Stirlingshire has left a question mark over their playoff potential. They have a dangerous strikeforce in Steven Doris and former Celtic and Hearts player Craig Beattie but Beattie has only played ten games all season and his fitness is an ongoing concern.
Stirling Albion v Inverness Betting Preview Betting Odds
Caley Thistle are off course short to win this game but they make decent acca fodder at 1.36 (9/25) with bet365, McBookie, Paddy Power and Coral. If you fancy a shock Stirling can be backed at 8/1 with McBookie with the draw coming in at 4/1 across the board including Ladbrokes and William Hill.
A shock looks highly unlikely on this occasion and Inverness should be relied on to cover a handicap quite comfortably. Backing them -1 goal is available at 2.0 (evens) with Paddy Power and the braver punter can get 3.6 (13/5) on them to win by three or more.
