St Johnstone v Hearts Betting Tips And Predictions
Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership
Location: Mc Diarmid Park
Date: 17th September 2016
St Johnstone and Hearts will be fighting it out at the top end of the table this season.
At the moment Hearts do look better equipped and are currently second only to Celtic and a win would see them go top, briefly. But a home win would see The Saints draw level on points and you couldn’t count against that.
Tommy Wright’s side won out in the League Cup second round just over a month ago. That was a five goal thriller that saw the lead change hands on three separate occasions. There is always the potential for a plethora of goals in this match but it can be difficult to predict.
This game could finish 0-0, 4-3 or any score in between. Although the head to head stats do point towards a glut of goals when The Saints meet The Jambos. The last five match ups have seen nineteen goals and that was with a sneaky wee 0-0 in the midst of them all.
Hearts have seen +2.5 goals in all but one of their league games this season. St Johnstone have seen three or more goals in three of their five league matches. Both sides can lay claim to having secured a 0-0 draw with Aberdeen in that time.
There is an element of unpredictability to it. With both sides having started the season well they may play it cagey. But if there is to be goals in the game there is probably as much chance of there being four or more as just three.
The way I see it you are probably better backing there to be at least four goals at a higher price for a smaller stake. That way you lose less if the game is low scoring. But you can still get a decent win if it’s hell for leather.
St Johnstone v Hearts Betting Tips And Predictions – Best Betting Odds
Hearts are favourites to win at 2.5 (6/4) with Betway but they are shortening across the board. St Johnstone are available at 3.14 (15/7) with Marathon Bet. They are also best price for the draw at 3.35 (40/17).
Both teams to score has got potential at 1.94 (15/16) with 888Sport while +2.5 goals is 2.2 (6/5) with Paddy Power.
But I like the look of +3.5 goals at 4.1 (31/10) with 888Sport. Given recent history it’s a decent jump in price for just one more goal. We just need to hope it doesn’t finish 0-0.
