Scottish Football Fixtures 2016 2017
The Scottish football fixtures for 2016/2017 are due to be released on Friday 17th June. The fixtures will be broadcast on Sky Sports News at 09:00am. They will also be released, in full, on the SPFL website.
The SPFL fixture list offers up intriguing possibilities with Celtic and Rangers finally set to meet in the SPFL Ladbrokes Premiership. For fans of Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen and Hibernian in particular it will be the first fixtures released for the upcoming season.
All other sides have fixtures arranged for The Scottish League Cup which kicks off on 16th July. The other four sides have received a bye into the second round of that competition to allow them room to participate in European competition.
The first games across all four divisions of the SPFL will be on Saturday 6th August.

Celtic open their campaign with an away game against Hearts. Hearts and Celtic matches from last season where usually exciting affairs with plenty of goals across the games.
Celtic’s main challengers last season, Aberdeen, have a difficult opening game away to the ever impressive St Johnstone.
Rangers have what is perhaps the easiest game they could have started with. A home game against Hamilton sets up the opportunity for them to pick up their first Ladbrokes SPFL Premiership points.
Kilmarnock who went so close to falling out of the Premiership have a home game against Motherwell. There is also a Jags derby with Partick Thistle hosting Inverness and Ross County will host Dundee with two teams who will be battling hard for the top six.
Celtic and Rangers will meet for the first time on 1oth September at Celtic Park with the reverse fixture provisionally set for a New Years Eve clash at Ibrox.
Scottish Football Fixtures 2016/2017 – SPFL Championship
Dundee United begin their campaign after relegation with a home tie against Queen Of The South. Falkirk and Hibernian face off again in what promises to be an excellent opening game.
Dunfermline can get their campaign back in the Championship off to a flyer against Dumbarton while Ayr Utd, also promoted from League 1, host Raith Rovers.
The most intriguing game looks to be the Renfrewshire Derby between St Mirren and Morton.
