A sack Ronny Deila petition by Celtic fans is nearing it’s own target of two hundred signatures.
The petition started on Saturday with the website change.org and for many Celtic fans it is seen as a low point in their fellow fans behaviour. They have taken to twitter in numbers to let the petitioners know exactly what they think of their actions.
One fan even signed the petition just to let people know they disagreed with it. Kathryn White, from Glasgow, said “I’ve only signed to add my comment. You people are a disgrace dragging a fellow Celt through the mud publicly like this. Shame on you.”
The petitioners set their own target of 200 signatures which in itself suggests they didn’t imagine their attempts were ever going to have any real affect. That target is within touching distance with 188 signatures at time of writing.
The sack Ronny Deila petition was started on Saturday after Celtic suffered an embarrassing loss at home to Motherwell. That was one loss to many for at least one Celtic fan to take.
While the petitioners are small in number it does exhibit a burgeoning dissatisfaction with Deila amongst the wider Celtic support. Prominent Celtic blogger, James Forrest, added his voice to the disaffected early this week.
Having looking sidelined for most of this season it’s looking increasingly likely that Ronny Deila will be facing the axe. No manger can outlast a mutiny from the fans in the long term.
