Ross County opened up at odds on to win this match and at one point they shortened to as low as 1.8(4/5). While there would have been no value in that price it would have been hard to argue that they were priced incorrectly.

So it’s incredibly surprising to see The Staggies drift in the WDW markets to odds against and a now very tempting 2.1(11/10) with bet365 and McBookie.

Jim McIntyre’s side have been in great form and have only lost to Celtic and high flying Hearts this season. Aberdeen are the only other team above them in the league and a win on Saturday will solidify their 4th place in the league.

It’s four games unbeaten in a row for the Dingwall side and they were only a few minutes from a 4th win in a row away to Motherwell at the weekend.

Craig Curran and Liam Boyce have 7 goals between them with Michael Gardyne pitching in at the weekend. Brian Graham is waiting in the wings putting pressure on the strikers to perform and they are responding.

I was asked a few weeks ago to name my top 5 transfers in the SPFL this season and in 4th place I put Jackson Irvine from Celtic to Ross County. He hasn’t disappointed since his free transfer as he has bossed midfielders of greater renown and experience.

He is seen as a defensive midfielder but assistant manager, Billy Dodds, has been speaking about his potential to be a box to box midfielder. That’s something I concur with and I think he could be appearing on the scoresheet sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately the bookies are in agreement and his price is a little lower than I would have liked for first goalscorer.

This Ross County v Partick Thistle betting preview predicts a home win for Thistle.

Thistle’s fans eternal optimism could be drawing thin in Dingwall.

Thistle are the opposite right now. They are struggling to score and now sit bottom with only 2 goals to their name. Main striker Kris Doolan is yet to hit form and new signing Mathias Pogba has spent most of his time on the treatment table.

The only thing that is a potential put off for this Ross County v Partick Thistle betting preview would be Thistle’s relatively strong record in the highlands. They have lost just once in their last 4 visits to Dingwall and their last 4 visits to Inverness. They seem to like the trip for whatever reason.

The H2H wouldn’t put me off that much in this instance. Their is a bigger gulf between the sides this season than there ever has been, probably. Goals will win this game and right now only one side is exhibiting and signs of scoring them.

Backing the home side at 2.1(11/10) looks to be an obligatory bet. It may well be the bet of the weekend.

In the first goalscorer markets Jackson Irvine is a little short at 14/1. There may well by more value in his midfield partner Rocco Quinn at 17/1 with McBookie. But with some bookies still to open their FGS markets should Irvine touch 20/1(unlikely as it seems) he becomes very backable.
