Ross County v Inverness Betting Preview
Location: Global Energy Stadium
Date: 3rd October 2015.
The Highland Derby has become a regular fixture in Scotland’s top flight and you can expect it to remain so for some time. It is eagerly anticipated now so much so that the BBC Scotland football chiefs have elected to broadcast the upcoming League Cup clash live on terrestrial television in Scotland.
The Staggies and The Caley Jags are deserving of their moment in the spotlight, too. John Hughes managed Caley Thistle into a European place not to mention winning the Scottish Cup. Jim McIntyre has led County to a very respectable 5th place already this season just a point behind supposedly high flying Hearts.
There are goals about the home side with Liam Boyce sitting second behind Leigh Griffiths in the Premiership’s top scorer table with 6 goals. But there are more dangers than just him in the team with Michael Gardyne and Craig Curran getting amongst the goals.
I was asked at the close of the transfer window to name my 5 best transfers in Scotland. A few people wondered at my inclusion of Jackson Irvine in the list but his form has proven me right so far. He is a key element to their side as a box to box midfielder and one to expect to get amongst the goals sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile after a terrible start Inverness have found their form again. Its 3 wins and 2 draws in their last five games and at least a goal in every one of them. A 2-0 home win over Hearts was followed by bursting Aberdeen’s bubble last weekend.
So predicting the winner of this clash looks extremely difficult but County do look a little short at a best priced 5/4.

A stat was brought to my attention at the beginning of the week that passed me by and surprised the heck out of me. Ross County, despite having scored 15 goals this season, are yet to bag a single goal in the 2nd half of any match.
If that run continues, although it must surely end some time, there looks to be a great opportunity in the Highest Scoring Half market. You can back the first half to have more goals at a price of 3.2(11/5) with bet365 and that looks worthy of a punt.
Equally, or even more likely, backing Ross County to score more in the 1st half at 3.5(5/2) is very tempting.
It seems like an opportune moment to have a wee go at an unusual market For this Ross County v Inverness betting preview
