Raith Rovers v Hibernian betting preview
Location: Starks Park
Date: 24th October 2015.
Anyone who reads my previews regularly will know I have a soft spot for Raith’s manager, Ray McKinnon. I have been a fan since his Brechin days and his performance this season has improved his reputation.
The Rovers are a solitary point behind Hibs in 3rd place and are well deserving of that position. Their solitary defeat in the last 7 matches was a 2-0 loss to Celtic in the league cup. They won the other 6 matches.
At home they have won 7 games on the spin and have conceded just twice, to Morton and Hamilton Accies who sit in 5th place in the Premiership.
There is plenty to like about Raith at the moment but the truth is Hibs should bring an end to their outstanding home form. As good as it is none of their home wins have come against the big 4 in The Scottish Championship.
That’s no disrespect to the likes of Morton, QOS and Dumbarton who pushed Raith all the way. They needed a 94th minute winner against Morton last time out.
When Rangers, Falkirk, Saint Mirren and first up Hibs come to visit I expect the home side to find things much, much tougher.
It’s not as though The Hibees are struggling themselves. They brought an end to Falkirk’s unbeaten home record on Tuesday even if they needed a controversial penalty to do so.
That win was their 8th in 9 games and with the carrot of closing the gap on Rangers to just 5 points dangling I expect them to keep that run going.
Rangers travel to Saint Mirren on Sunday and any dropped points there could see the title race blown wide open again. A week later the top two meet at Easter Road and that promises to be enthralling.
In my opinion Hibs have the best midfield in the division and that could be where most of the games are won and lost over the next few weeks.

I dallied a little this morning (Thursday) and the even money available on Hibs in many places has been snapped up.
You can still back them to win at 1.91(10/11) with Skybet but my guess is that price isn’t going to last much longer. For my money 10/11 is still worthy of a bet on this one.
