Queens Park v Cowdenbeath Betting Preview
Scottish League 1 Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg
Location: Hampden Park
Date: 4th May 2016
A trip to Hampden Park should be enough to get any team firing.
Cowdenbeath certainly need something to get them up and running as they have let a few chances to avoid the playoff slip by. After a decent wee run that saw them claim victories over Ayr, Peterhead and in form Brechin they lost badly at home to Stenhousemuir and that consigned them to their fate.
They had one more chance to escape had they picked up a point at Stranraer but they were, by all accounts, pretty toothless. Their main problem stems from having nobody but Greig Spence likely to get on the scoresheet. If he isn’t firing there aren’t many likely to replace him.
Only one other player has scored more than two league goals all season, defender Dean Brett. Against a Queens park side who will be stuffy and hard to beat it’s impossible to put faith in a team who are relying on one player to produce the goods.
The Spiders have done superbly under Gus McPherson to reach the playoffs for the second season running. While they are unlikely to win out you would be hard pressed to back anyone to beat them. Their away from is excellent with Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Annan their first defeat in eleven away matches.
If they take a lead to anyone’s ground it would take a brave punter to back against them seeing it out.
Queens Park v Cowdenbeath Betting Preview Best Betting Odds
The price for +2.5 goals looks very tasty at 1.85 (17/20) with Marathon Bet but is hard to place any faith in. Both teams to score is also probably best avoided at 1.73 (8/11) with bet365.
