Queen Of The South v Linfield Betting Tips And Predictions
Irn Bru Challenge Cup
Location: Palmerston Park
Date: 9th October 2016
Live on BBC Alba
There are no sides left in Scotland with a 100% league record.
Although Queen Of The South can lay claim to remaining unbeaten in the Scottish Championship. The only sides who have beaten them this season are Rangers and Partick Thistle. Both of whom play at a higher level.
On Sunday they won't be facing a team from a higher level. Linfield may be at the top end of the Irish League but that isn't even the same as the top of the Scottish Championship.
Hibs are the only side in the Scottish Championship to escape from Palmerston with anything. That 0-0 draw is the only home game in seven when Queens have failed to score. Previously they had scored nineteen goals in six games.
Hence why they have been heavily backed in. They were tipping off even money early on Thursday morning. But that was quickly snapped up and they are likely to shorten even further before kick off.
With the calibre of player at Queens disposal they should see off Linfield relatively comfortably. And all the signs are that Gavin Skelton and his side are taking this game seriously.
Without going in to too much detail I can't see past a home win in this encounter. It will take something extraordinary for Linfield to turn this one over. And even though the price has dropped significantly they are probably still worth considering.
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH V LINFIELD BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS BEST BETTING ODDS
Queen Of The South are no better than 1.8 (4/5) with Paddy Power. Linfield are available at 4/1 with Marathon Bet. They are also best price for the draw at 3.85 (37/13).
Both teams to score is a little short for my liking at 1.67 (4/6) with bet365. But Linfield aren't short of a goal or two so it is preferable to the 1.7 (7/10) from bwin for +2.5 goals.
If the Queen s WDW price continues to fall there is a good chance that the BTTS price will rise and that could make it worth taking on.
Queens have drawn 0-0 two games running.
Linfield have seen +2.5 goals in seven of eleven domestic matches.
