Brendan Rodgers has emerged as the leading favourite with Sky Sports announcing that he has held a second round of talks this afternoon.

Rodgers becomes the first odds on favourite to take the lead in the next Celtic manager betting. At this stage things are looking likely but nothing is guaranteed.
Rodgers will need guarantees of autonomy and financial guarantees. There are two parts to this position, Celtic and the incoming manager. As of this moment neither has agreed to anything.
It of course means all the other contenders are now drifting in the betting with former favourite David Moyes now out to 16/1. Neil Lennon is the new 2nd favourite at 4/1.
Confirmation that Malky McKay has also been interviewed has seen a small drop in his odds, too.
Steve Clarke has returned to the 33/1 price he started at yesterday before a flurry of price changes saw him drop to as low as 6/1.
The Celtic board are taking their time in naming the successor to Ronny Deila.
Many names have been mentioned and quite a few of them have the Celtic fans salivating at the prospect.
Right at the head of the next Celtic manager betting markets are the likes of Brendan Rodgers and David Moyes. Either or would be very welcome at Parkhead.
But if there is anything to be learned from previous next manager markets it is that the betting isn’t always to be believed. Even the last time there was a next Celtic manager betting market the eventual placement came from left field.
At one point Roy Keane was nailed on to get the job and there was a lot of money laid down. Already the next Celtic manager betting this time around has seen various different favourites take up the mantle.
The simple truth when it comes to next Celtic manger betting is that nobody outside the Celtic board inner circle really knows anything. Journalists don’t know, the bookies don’t know and the hell if I know.
But, if nothing else it can be fun watching the volatile markets take shape and sometimes, just sometimes, a little information gets out and there can be an opportunity to be had.
Next Celtic Manager Betting Odds
The former Everton manager and Celtic player is right at the head of the field and would be very welcome at Celtic Park. England is his preferred destination though.
Brendan Rodgers 1/6
The former Liverpool and Swansea manager is potentially the Celtic fans’ favourite. The position at Swansea disappearing opens him up as a genuine possibility.
A divisive figure in more ways than one. Lots of Celtic fans want him and lots of Celtic fans don’t. But Dermot Desmond does, apparently, and that’s what counts at the end of the day.
An excellent managerial career so far and is extremely well regarded from his playing days at Celtic. Nobody would complain if he got the gig.
If Neil Lennon is on the next Celtic manger shortlist he will be pretty far down it. It would look like a backward step to most fans even though he is loved.
He has supposedly been interviewed for the position but I reckon I have as good a chance of getting the gig as he does. 20/1 should be a lot higher.
Taking Northern Ireland to the Euros and only just signed a long contract to remain at the helm. An unlikely candidate given his lack of experience at top level.
If I were the Celtic CEO I would walk 500 miles to get Neil back up the road to Scotland. But I am not and he may well want another pop at returning Norwich City to the EPL.
Rumours of an O Neill and Lennon/Keane duopoly abound on social media. My intuition tells me he’s enjoying the quiet life although is yet to resign on the dotted line for Ireland.
Roberto Martinez 50/1
His reputation in England is at an all time low so a sideways step to Scotland could suit him. He would bring the style Celtic fans profess to adore and he is a winner.
Henrik Larsson 33/1
Would Larsson risk sullying his legendary status at Celtic Park? It seems like he has more to learn in Sweden before either he or the Celtic board would be willing to take an almighty risk.
Steve Clarke 33/1
The former West Brom manager and Chelsea 1st team coach has crashed in with most firms but is still available at 20/1 with Coral. That may not last much longer.
There are the usual no hopers listed like Tony Mowbray and Ally McCoist at 100/1 in the next Celtic manager betting market but there will also be a few left field candidates not even in the betting.
The Celtic fans are clamouring for their next manager to be a big name but they don’t always get what they want. Whoever takes over the reins has a big task in getting a bloated squad into the Champions League group stages.
