Morton v Queen Of The South betting preview
Date: 14th November 2015
With the international fixtures rendering the Championship down to two games this is the most intriguing.
Intriguing, yes, but it is unlikely to be a classic. All but one of Morton’s six Championship home matches have seen less than three goals. That was the 0-4 defeat to Rangers.
Four of the other five have seen less than two goals with 50% of them ending goalless.
If you’re looking to Queens to bring a bit of goal laden excitement you’re in for a had. Their last two away matches saw three goals a piece but that is to be expected against Rangers and Alloa.
The four previous games all saw less than three goals with all but one seeing less than two.
Queens leading score is Derek Lyle with five goals while The Ton’s leading scorer is Denny Johnstone with four goals to his name.
Goals are unlikely to be in the offing in this encounter. The teams have met three times already this season with two of them resulting in 1-0 wins for either side. The third was an uncharacteristic 2-2 draw.
It looks like we can look upon that game as the exception rather than the rule. With the heavy rain scheduled to continue on Friday and Saturday we can expect a heavy pitch to boot.
Morton v Queen Of The South Betting Preview Betting Odds
Backing +2.5 goals in this encounter at a best price 1.67(4/6) with Boylesports would take a braver punter than me.
With the opposite looking more likely backing -2.5 goals at 2.35(27/20) with Coral is a much better option. Morton have had a penchant for conceding late goals so it is a bet I would look to lay off if the option presents itself.
WDW backers might look to a draw at 3.7(27/10) with both McBookie and Ladbrokes. The Ton have a tough group of fixtures on the horizon so may wish to push for their fourth league win in a row. You can back them at 2.5(6/4) with Stanjames.
