Livingston v Alloa Betting Preview
Location: Toni Macaroni Arena
Date: 12th December
It’s hard to believe that Livi are second from bottom of the Scottish Championship if you look at their last six games.
A well earned point against Rangers followed them giving Hibs a right scare at Easter Road. Before that they bagged seven goals in 3-0 and 1-4 wins against Raith and Queen Of The South respectively. Most recently they saw off Peterhead’s Scottish Cup challenge with a comfortable 1-3 away win.
Marc Burchill’s side could rightly claim to being one of the divisions most in form teams so their league position really does belie their ability. The visitors, Alloa, are the complete opposite with bottom of the league a fair representation of theirs.
Experienced manager Danny Lennon left the bridge last week and temporary manager Paddy Connolly did little to steady the ship. A 5-0 defeat away to Dumbarton is symptomatic of their problems that has seen them concede seventeen goals and score none in their last five games.
Michael Chopra has thrown his hat into the ring for the manager’s position but he could help the club more by rediscovering his goalscoring touch. He is the club’s joint leading goalscorer in the league with one (yes, ONE) goal to his name.
Unable to score and with more leaks than Alistair Carmichael’s parliamentary office they could be in for another hard time of it on Saturday. Confidence must be at an all time low and until a new man at the helm can provide a new manager bounce there is no land in sight.
Livingston will surely see this game as a great opportunity to widen the gap at the bottom and a chance to put the pressure on Saint Mirren and Dumbarton above them.

I am surprised to see quotes of 1.75(3/4) on a home win for this game. For me it represents more value than the 1.83(5/6) on Dumbarton on Tuesday night. They eventually went off at 1.62(31/50) and that should be expected to be the case again.
You can back Livingston to score +1.5 team goals at a price of 1.8(4/5) with bet365. The biggest danger to that would be the weather with heavy rain still forecast for Thursday and Friday. It is looking like clearing up over Friday night and Saturday.
On the handicap lines Livingston -1 is a very tempting 2/1 with Skybet and Paddy Power and that’s a bet that would be very hard to argue against. But I am going to settle for -1 Asian Handicap at 2.32(33/25) with 888sport with stake back insurance should the win by a single goal.
