Kilmarnock v Rangers Betting Preview
William Hill Scottish Cup 5th Round Replay
Date: 16th February 2016
It will have been ten days since Rangers and Kilmarnock played out an intense but goalless draw in the Scottish Cup 5th round at Ibrox.
Rangers were ridiculously short priced favourites for this Scottish Cup replay’s first encounter but flattered to deceive for the most part. Since then the Gers struggled to salvage a point at lowly Alloa while Killie had a massive win at Motherwell to lift them out of the relegation playoff position.
This morning Lee Clarke was announced as the new Kilmarnock manager and what more motivation would the Kilmarnock players need than the chance to knock Rangers out of the cup under the watchful eye of their new head coach.
The first game was the first time rangers failed to score all season but the goals were drying up before then. They have scored just five goals in their last five games and Martyn Waghorn hasn’t scored in any of them. That’s a far cry from the four previous games where they scored nineteen of which Waghorn himself scored seven.
And Killie have plenty of attacking threat about them. Obadeyi, Magennis, MacKenzie and Kiltie caused Rangers no end of problems in the first half at Ibrox and certainly have the armoury to do so again.
But Rangers have plenty of attacking threat themselves and will create plenty of goalscoring opportunities. If they have their shooting boots on they should just come out on top in this game. Rangers are favourites but much like the first game I can’t bring myself to back them at the prices.

Rangers have shortened to a best 1.57 (4/7) with McBookie and that is getting shorter by the hour. That means Kilmarnock are as high now as 6.5 (11/2) with Boylesports and if that drifts anymore it will be hard not to back them in some respect.
Both teams to score was well fancied in the first game and with Killie likely to be more open and attack minded it has a good chance again at 1.8 (4/5)with bet365.
If you’re looking for something to fill up an acca Kilmarnock to get on the scoresheet is priced high at 1.6 (3/5) with Boylesports and Coral and that could be the best bet from this game.
Force me to pick a winner here and I would go with Rangers but you couldn’t force me to back them at the prices.
