Kilmarnock v Hamilton Academical Betting Preview
Location: Rugby Park
Date: 30th January 2016
Both Killie and Accies will be the most concerned about Dundee Utd’s potential resurgence.
When it comes to conceding goals these two are right up there with the league’s bottom side. Kilmarnock have actually conceded the most (forty-seven), one more than Dundee Utd and two more than Hamilton Accies.
A win for any side here would bring much needed relief but it’s difficult to place any faith in either. Killie have four wins in fifteen games while Hamilton are desperately seeking a win with just one in their last fifteen league games.
Fans of both sides have lost faith in their managers tactical nous. Both sides have been on the wrong end of a real hammering of late and both sides are in danger of slipping out of the Premiership this season.
WARNING: Sweary words. Lots and lots of sweary words in this video.
The only positive thing that can be said for this game is the likelihood of goals. Both sides have averaged 3.08 goals per game in the league this season and recent form suggests there will be goals again in this game.
Nine of Killie’s last twelve home games have seen +2.5 goals while eight of Hamilton’s last twelve aways have followed suit. That’s seventeen from the twenty-four combined and with both sides likely to go for a win here the goals trend looks likely to continue.
The weather could be a factor to consider with gusts of 40mph+ predicted for kick off in Kilmarock. The heavy rain is forecast to end on Friday evening and shouldn’t be too much trouble for the plastic pitch at Rugby Park.

The bookies have installed Hamilton as favourites here at a best 2.62 (13/8) with William Hill. That means Killie are backable at 2.75 (7/4) with Skybet but you would need to find faith from somewhere other than the price. The draw has potential at 3.5 (5/2) with McBookie.
Goals do look the way to go though at 1.83 (5/6) with Skybet for +2.5 total goals. Both teams to score is short at 1.65 (13/20) with McBookie but certainly looks likely. Four or more goals is not out of the question and tempting at 3.1 (21/10) with William Hill, Boylesports and McBookie.
The potential for wind to interfere should be of concern so while I am backing goals I am going to do so with a smaller stake than normal.
