Kilmarnock v Celtic Betting Preview

Scottish Premiership

Location: Rugby Park

Date: 12th August

Time: 19:45

No prizes for guessing who is expected to win in this Kilmarnock v Celtic betting preview and the bookies aren’t playing any games either.

Celtic are priced as low as 1.16(1/6) in places and that might just be the lowest price any Scottish Premiership team has been for a long time for an away fixture.

The sharp amongst us will have got on at 1.33 early this morning and even sharper will be those who got on -2 Asian Handicap at 2.23 before it got brought back into line.

Anything approaching value is gone on both those bets and little wonder considering the form Kilmarnock have showed up to now.

Their opening game of the season saw a fan throw his scarf onto the pitch in disgust and if you watched the BBC Scotland football highlights you will know why.

As good as Dundee were, Killie were dire and their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen on Sunday didn’t improve their reputation any.

With only 35% of possession and not a single shot on target in the whole match the only wonder is that they only conceded two goals. Against a side like Celtic that could easily double.

For their part Celtic looked incredibly comfortable away to Partick Thistle although the Thistle fans will be annoyed that it was two mistakes that allowed Tom Rogic and Kris Commons in to score.

The goals could fly in at the Killie end on Wednesday evening and the chances of them going in at the other end are as low as they are ever likely to be.

Adding Kris Boyd to their attack hasn’t had the effect desired by Gary Locke and the Killie fans and as early in the season as it is, relegation is already staring them in the face.

Kilmarnock v Celtic betting preview

With Celtic highly likely to win this game without conceding it may be that the Win To Nil price of 2.0(Evens) with Boylesports and Paddy Power is hard to refuse.

It’s a toss up between backing that and -2 Asian Handicap. This bet sees your stake returned should Celtic only win by two and that’s something that should happen at the very least. It is also evens with McBookie.

It is also worth going with the usual first goalscorer attempts for the usual small stake. Dedryck Boyata is available at a rather large 30/1 with McBookie and Mikael Lustig is also backable at 25/1 with Skybet, Coral, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Betfair.
