Kilmarnock v Albion Rovers Betting Preview
Betfred Scottish League Cup
Location: Rugby Park
Date: 30th July 2016
Kilmarnock fans will have no idea what kind of season they are facing.
Lee Clarke has taken his revolution to unprecedented lengths by completely overhauling last seasons’ side. As such it is unlikely that he knows his own best team yet. Hence the six changes to the side that lost 0-2 at home to Morton.
While they are still in with a good chance of qualifying the Killie fans will want to see more from their team. They were fortunate to take anything from Clyde and needed an eighty-fifth minute winner at Berwick.
As a result they may need to beat Albion Rovers by a few goals to get through to the next stages. And that is a task that won’t come easy. Particularly if he can’t settle on his side with the first league games fast approaching.
Despite not winning any games Albion Rovers have performed well up to now. The defeat to Clyde was a surprise and perhaps unfortunate after going down to an injury time penalty. And they are the only goals they have conceded so far.
They do seem to be lacking in goal scorers but they still run a tight ship defensively. While Kilmarnock may need a comprehensive win they are yet to convince many they are capable of achieving it. Least of all their manager.
