Celtic are looking for their fifth Scottish Premiership win in a row on Sunday.
The only thing likely to stop them would be the chastening experience in Barcelona on Tuesday night. Convention tells us that subsequent games after European games are difficult for sides. But that convention is far from the truth with Celtic.
The Hoops have won their last ten Scottish Premiership matches that followed on from European away games. Already this season they followed a 2-0 defeat in Isreal with a 4-1 win over Aberdeen. Hence they should have confidence heading into a game with an Inverness side who I still have concerns over.
The Caley Jags may have picked up another point last weekend but in truth they were fortunate. Despite Richie Foran’s protestations Aberdeen should have had them wrapped up long before they equalised.
Poor finishing prevented Inverness from adding more than one to their double digits goals against column. Considering the form Celtic are in I expect that to increase the by time you’ve finished your Sunday roast.
Leigh Griffiths could come back into the fold after missing Rangers and Barcelona through injury. He has a point to prove and a place to fight for after Moussa Dembele stepped up the plate. The wealth of Celtic’s attacking options don’t stop there, either.
Tom Rogic and James Forrest also played no part in Barcelona. So even if Celtic did need to change it about they have plenty of talent waiting in the wings. Although the Barca game was on Tuesday night. That’s plenty of time time to recuperate.
Some people may look to the head to head stats and suggest that Celtic haven’t always been comfortable against Inverness. But as I stated last week there is a big difference in recent ICT teams and this one.
Nothing but a comfortable Celtic win is on the cards.

Handicap backers can get even money on Celtic -1 from Ladbrokes and others. That has to come into your thoughts. But you will get a slightly better price by backing Celtic -1.5 Asian Handicap at 2.05 (21/20) with bet365.
The half-time/full-time price of 2.05 (21/20) from Coral is another one to consider. But on balance the handicap looks to be the better bet on this occasion.
