William Hill Scottish Cup 5th Round Replay
Location: Easter Road
Date: 16th February 2016
We weren’t to expect one Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibs and we ended up with two.
The money men at both clubs will be delighted at another sell out but the TV companies and the neutral will have to make do without seeing the spectacle for themselves. It will be a tensely fought affair whichever way it swings.
Hibs may still be reeling after missing a great opportunity to apply pressure on Rangers at the top of the Championship by dropping two points at Livingston. The spectre of this game appears to have affected them so the last thing they will want to do is bow out.
Meanwhile, Hearts had a free weekend after their home game with Partick Thistle was called off due to the rain. Boy did they need it with so many walking wounded after the tumultuous first Edinburgh derby. Their ills look relieved now with Igor Rossi and Blazej Augustyn set to return but they are still sweating over the fitness of Prince Buaben in midfield.
The midfield could be the key battle ground in this game and if the second half of the first game is repeated it could be an area where Hibs dominate. If Buaben is missing The Jambos could be left regretting letting Mogaro Gomis join Motherwell on loan.
Hibernian v Hearts Betting Preview Betting Odds
Hibs are favourites for this one at a best 2.38 (11/8) with William Hill. Hearts are 2/1 with McBookie while the draw is best priced at 3.6 (13/5) with bet365. There is a lot at stake here so a tight affair that heads into extra-time wouldn’t be surprising but the more Hearts drift the more backable they become.
Both teams to score is short at 1.75 (3/4) with bet365 while +2.5 total goals comes in at 1.95 with Marathon Bet. Darren McGregor could be worth a small investment to score first at 40/1 with William Hill and Betfair.
