Date: 18th February 2017
While there are a few managers feeling the heat in the Scottish Premiership none need the factor fifty more than Richie Foran.
The amiable Irishman has plenty of friends in the Highlands but that will count for little if he can’t get some points on the board.
Caley Thistle have won just three league games all season. Their last win was before Halloween and was their only win on the road to date. Since then they have picked up a measly five points. With a 6-0 drubbing from Celtic fresh in their minds the trauma of their last trip to Tynecastle will be all too easy to relive.
The Jambos under the tutelage of Robbie Neilson ripped The Caley Jags to shreds winning 5-1. You could argue the current side are a more formidable outfit with new signings bedding in quickly. Although with the Edinburgh Derby cup replay on the horizon Invernesians will hope they take their eye of the ball.
The state of the Tynecastle surface may also hamper the home side. It certainly appeared to last weekend. Ian Cathro responded by reverting to a more direct style in the second half and has already indicated he is willing to do so from the start this Saturday.
That will likely see Johnsen and Goncalves lead the line together. With Djoum and Rherras back from African Nations duty their lineup will only get stronger. And with another game under their belts the new signings should feel more comfortable.
It’s an ominous portent for Foran who must face up to hosting Rangers and Celtic in his next two games. He could do with instilling some of his famed fighting spirit in his charges. Although it may all come a little too late.
Three defeats from the next three matches could spell the end for the Dubliner. An unedifying result in this match and he may not even see that far.
HEARTS V INVERNESS BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS BETTING ANALYSIS
Hearts are a short price at 1.55 (11/20) but deservedly so. It's a price that may drift a little leading up to Saturday morning but acca backers will pile in on Saturday morning so it could shorten once more.
Nothing could make me take a punt on Inverness here even with the new signings of Billy McKay and Louis Laing. They are one of three sides that punters will be looking to back against on the handicaps (the others being Killie and Motherwell) and this game may be the one to take a chance on.
Backing Hearts with a -1 Asian Handicap pays at 1.97 (28/29) and is drifting towards the even money mark. If even money becomes available it is a no brainer for me and may well be my only single bet of the weekend.
Both teams to score backers have reason to consider the price of 1.88 (7/8). Inverness do have goals about them but shipping them at the other end has been their downfall. Hearts concede plenty too and that new look defence still has only a finger dip of games between them.
With that in mind adventurous punters might want to take a chance on +3.5 goals at 3.1 (21/10).
