Failing to win twice in two games is hard to comprehend for Celtic fans.
That’s no wonder as it’s not something they are used to seeing domestically. In the last twenty domestic matches that followed Celtic dropping points they have won eighteen of them. Of those eighteen games they managed to cover the handicap in thirteen of them.
This game looks to be all about Celtic’s ability to bounce back from a disappointing and pressure inducing defeat to Kilmarnock last weekend. The stats suggest they should bounce back convincingly.
But we should also consider The Jam Tarts poor form. They have failed to win ten of their last fifteen games. That’s something the Hearts fans aren’t quite used to either after the joys of last season and even their start to this one.
Having drawn two blanks most recently the absence of top scorer Juanma won’t be a welcome Christmas present either.

Hearts at a best priced 5/1 with William Hill seems optimistically short. It’s been thirteen games since Hearts have beaten Celtic back in 2012.
With Celtic having a point to prove and a managers job to save I fancy Celtic to bounce back quite strongly here. In fact I think they can cover a handicap so the price of even money on Celtic -1 Asian Handicap with Paddy Power and 888Sport has plenty of appeal.
That has stake back insurance should they win by the odd goal but braver punters can get 2.6 (8/5) on Celtic -1 goal. Celtic -2 Asian Handicap pays out at 4.25 (13/4) with 888Sport.
On the first goalscorer markets Mikael Lustig at 28/1 with Coral seems to offer a small amount of value while Dedryck Boyata at 33/1 with Paddy Power is another option to consider.
Of course anyone who does not have a Betfair account can get 4/1 on Celtic victory by clicking through the picture at the bottom of the page.
