Inverness have turned a corner but should be wary of Hamilton at NDP.
Accies have scored in every game this season (twelve matches) and will rightly fancy their chances against Caley Thistle. But they have only scored more than once in one of their league games. A 4-2 defeat in the Lanarkshire Derby a few weeks ago.
Therein lies Martin Canning’s major problem. Scoring goals. Ali Crawford has kept them afloat so far with four goals in six league games. Apart from him NOBODY has scored more than once. It’s a shame for Accies because they can play. But without goals you’re heading in one direction.
Caley Thistle come to town in a good vein of form, too. It’s four games without defeat since their 5-1 smashing off Hearts. Wins over St Johnstone and Dundee and draws against the top two sides in the country suggest they will confound expectations. Mine at least.
And the head to head stats show they enjoy a visit to Hamilton. They have won on their last six visits here. A remarkable record particularly when you consider they have beaten them just once on seven attempts at home.
In Doumbouya they may have discovered the answer to their own goalscoring difficulties. But Ross Draper has been their key man in form. The bullish midfielder has scored three league goals already this season and was instrumental against both Celtic and Dundee. He will give Accies something to think about. Guaranteed.
But Hamilton Academical won’t be overawed. The biggest danger is a slow draining of confidence after one win in seven league matches. I maintain that it’s an unjust account of how they’ve been playing.
As such it would be folly to row in behind Caley Thistle while ignoring my own misgivings. Hamilton Academical will be no pushovers. Not by a long shot.
Hamilton v Inverness Betting Tips And Predictions – Best Betting Odds
Inverness are favourites at 2.38 (13/8) with McBookie which is too short for my liking. Hamilton are available at 3.22 (20/9) with Marathon Bet. McBookie and bet365 are best price for the draw at 3.5 (5/2).
The price on Inverness is the same as Ross County a few weeks ago who were duly turned over. There may be potential in Hamilton with Draw No Bet insurance at 2.33 (4/3) with 888Sport but those head to head stats are hard to ignore.
