It’s beginning to look like Celtic may actually be unstoppable.
For their 1-0 midweek home win over Patrick Thistle Brendan Rodgers utilised his squad once again but that didn’t stop them. Liam Henderson made a rare appearance in midfield while young Calvin Miller debuted in the left back position at just eighteen years of age.
It exemplifies the strength in depth at Celtic. It also means Rodgers has quality players like Griffiths, Armstrong, Rogic and Sviatchenko to come back into the fold after a rest.
The win over Thistle is Celtic’s twelfth league win in a row and their sixteenth in seventeen matches. Needless to say they have scored in every one of them. You can rest assured they will do so again.
But there is rarely any value in backing Celtic on any market. Despite, or because of, their undoubted dominance and quality. And while they have been utilising their squad in December the manner of their victories has become less comprehensive.
Their last three home games were won by the odd goal. That is a marked difference to their early season form when they beat everyone bar Motherwell by at least three goals. Hamilton themselves lost just 1-0 at Celtic Park less than two weeks ago.
And Celtic haven’t won here by more than a two goal margin in seven attempts. Hamilton held out for a draw twice with Celtic winning four times by the odd goal. The plastic pitch causes problems for most sides who visit and Celtic are no different.
Therefore backing Celtic on the handicaps is fraught with danger. But there is a market which may prove profitable if the game plays true to form. From twenty-one goals scored at The Super Seal Stadium eight came in the first half.
If The Hoops are to pull away they will probably do so in the second half.
HAMILTON V CELTIC BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS BEST BETTING ODDS
Both teams to score at 2.15 (23/20) with Coral and Betfair doesn’t appeal. Head to head stats suggest goals could be scarce so the unders markets may be more profitable. Under 3.5 goals is available at 1.67 (4/6).
Backing the second half to be the highest scoring comes in at 2.05 (21/20) with Stanjames.
Accies have conceded a mere 2 goals in the first half at home this season.
Both teams have scored in 5 of Hamilton's last 6 matches and 4 of Celtic's.
Head To Head Stats
