Falkirk v Queen Of The South Betting Tips And Predictions
Ladbrokes Scottish Championship
Location: Falkirk Community Stadium.
Date: 10th December 2016
The Falkirk Bairns haven’t hit the heights their own lofty expectations demand.
Yet they are only six points behind Hibs and Dundee Utd. If that is a relatively poor season by Peter Houston’s teams standards it shows how far they have come.
Their poor start included a 2-0 defeat at Queen Of The South but that was back when Queens were in form. Long before their current run of eight Scottish Championship losses in a row. They also lost to Hibs (fair enough) and drew with Morton, who are flying.
Since then they have lost twice in twelve Championship matches. On the face of it their most recent run of three wins in eight games may look like bad form. But you have to apply proper context to those results.
They played Hibs, Morton and Dundee Utd in those games and picked up a respectable two points. The only other defeat was at home to Raith Rovers. That game defied logic and reason and we should put it down to inexplicability.
That defeat was one of only three in twenty-seven home games. The Bairns remain one of the strongest home forces in the country. Only Hibs, Hearts, Raith, Rangers and Livingston (when they were fighting for their lives) have won here in fifty-seven Championship matches.
The Doonhamers themselves haven’t won here in ten attempts and look unlikely to turn that on it’s head now. Their new manager, Gary Naysmith, watched them become the only side turned over by St Mirren this season.
It’s a remarkable fall from grace after most people, myself included, had them chalked up for the playoffs at least. With the squad currently down to the bare bones it looks more like a relegation express than a promotion charge.
Also remarkable is the drift in price on Falkirk on the WDW markets.
FALKIRK V QUEEN OF THE SOUTH BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS BEST BETTING ODDS
With draw no bet insurance the Bairns have lengthened to 1.55 (11/20) with Betfair and that makes excellent acca material.
Both teams to score has potential but is short at 1.71 (5/7) with 888Sport. At 1.85 (17/20) with Marathon Bet +2.5 goals is a preferable option.
3 of Falkirk's last 5 matches have seen both teams score but only 1 has seen +2.5 goals.
3 of Queens' last 5 matches have seen both teams score with 4 seeing +2.5 goals.
