Falkirk really just need to win to secure second spot but it will be a lot more comfortable if they can win by a few goals.
The Bairns have had an excellent season having lost just twice in their last twenty-five league matches. They have espoused team spirit scoring late goals almost weekly to claw points back from the brink but, worryingly for their fans, they have won just three of their last nine games.
There are easier games to face than Morton who will want to hold on to their fifth place spot currently under threat from Queen Of The South and St Mirren. The Ton exhibited plenty of team spirit of their own by holding Hibs to a 0-0 draw last week, a result that could well have a major bearing on the race for second place.
It could be a nervy atmosphere inside the Falkirk Community Stadium and that is something that Morton can take advantage of. Will Vaulks, arguably Falkirk’s best player, will be missing and the rest of the squad is being pushed to it’s limits.
Avoiding Raith Rovers in the playoffs and the opportunity to recover could make all the difference to their chances of promotion.
Falkirk v Morton Betting Preview Best Betting Odds
Falkirk look short to me at a best priced 1.53 (8/15) with Skybet and Coral. Morton, no strangers to an upset, can be backed at a high of 6.5 (11/2) with Paddy Power and McBookie with the draw a best 4.35 (57/17) with Marathon Bet.
It’s a no bet game for me but could be worth watching in play. If Falkirk need a goal late on they have been very useful at getting them.
