Scottish League 1 Playoff Semi Final 2nd Leg

Location: Central Park

Date: 7th May 2016
Time: 15:00

Cowdenbeath have it all to do against a Queens Park side who have lost once in twelve away league matches.

The last time The Spiders lost by more than one goal on the road was in October and that’s the only time it has happened all season. The best League 2 has to offer couldn’t manage it and Cowdenbeath are looking like League 2 standard all over.

Queens Park played them off the park and the result could, nae SHOULD, have been a bigger win than it was. They caught them on the hop and continued to play at a strong tempo throughout the game. But for the woodwork it could have been four although to be fair the penalty decision that gave them their second goal was harsh.

Gus McPherson says they won’t change tactically for the second leg but they are unlikely to play on the front foot in the same manner. While they remain unbeaten in most of their away games they have only won three of their last eleven.

It’s natural for teams to play with a little less enthusiasm for getting forward when protecting a lead. If Cowdenbeath can get the first goal that propensity to drop deep is only likely to intensify. That won’t necessarily play into the home teams hands as they still look pretty toothless up top.

They have one man who can score goals in Greig Spence. He hasn’t scored in four and ultimately that looks likely to cost them.

Cowdenbeath v Queens Park Betting Preview Best Betting Odds

Cowdenbeath are odds on favourites at a best 1.87 (6/7) with McBookie. Queens Park can be backed at 4.5 (7/2) with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes while the draw is 3.9 (29/10) with Ladbrokes.

Backing Queens Park with Draw No Bet insurance should tempt at 3.4 (12/5) with Coral and Ladbrokes.

Goals are likely to be hard to come by again so both teams to score does not appeal at 1.75 (3/4) with Ladbrokes. Both Teams To Score NO at 2.38 (11/8) with Marathon Bet looks a much better option.

It also looks better than backing +2.5 goals at 1.8 (4.5) with Skybet or under 2.5 at 2.2 (6/5) with Marathon Bet.
