Celtic v Dundee Utd betting preview
Location: Celtic Park
Date: 25th October 2015.
Many Hoops fans were hoping for a decent result from the Europa League tie in Molde. The least they expected was a performance.
Ronny Deila got his tactics drastically wrong and the Celtic fans came out in force on twitter to demand his resignation.
In the cold light of day cooler heads have emerged but there are many still perturbed by the perceived lack of progress under the Norwegian.
This brings an added pressure to Sunday’s match and suddenly a game that looked like a cake walk is not quite so clear cut.
Regardless, anyone thinking they should have a pop at the 16/1 on a Dundee Utd win from Betfair should probably think again.
Celtic have an excellent bounce back record in the Scottish Premiership and I fully expect them to do so again. Big Mixu Paatelainen has inherited a comical defensive unit and I don’t think he has had enough time to fix that.
The make up of the Celtic team on Sunday is hard to predict. Chances are the likes of Tyler Blackett will reemerge in defence. Following on from his post substitution outburst Kris Commons’ inclusion is far from assured.
Jozo Simuovic travelled to Molde so it will be interesting to see if he gets the nod for his 2nd appearance for The Tic.
There are signs that all is not right at Celtic Park but that hasn’t stopped them reclaiming top spot in the league. The home side should still win this game comfortably, though. Even if the large squad is heavily utilised.
Celtic v Dundee Utd Betting Preview Betting Odds
A bet I always look out for when Celtic play at home is -2 Asian Handicap. The stats point to a clear profit margin with this bet if you can get anywhere close to even money.
On Sunday McBookie are offering 1.92(23/25) and that’s close enough for my liking. Even in the reign of Ronny Deila the bet has won more than it’s lost.
It should be considered as a long term value bet and keep in mind that your stake returns should they win by just two goals.
In the first goalscorer markets the only one of my favourites that I consider to be an acceptable price is Dedryck Boyata at 30/1 with Betbright.
