Fresh from a very encouraging performance in Amsterdam Celtic and their fans will look to keep that going on Sunday. With Aberdeen now 5 points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership dropped points are no longer acceptable.
Hearts entertain Aberdeen in the other of the Scottish football fixtures for Sunday. It’s conceivable, although unlikely, that The Dons will have done enough to give themselves an 8 point lead by the time Celtic even kick off.
So there’s no more room for manoeuvre for Ronny Deila’s team. Celtic are expected to win this game and win it they should.
Celtic v Dundee has already being included as one of our Scottish both teams to score tips and goals tips for this weekend. Unfortunately Celtic doing well in Amsterdam has left it as a bit of a scrabble around looking for value.
Leigh Griffiths, for example, is as low as 1.44(11/25) to score anytime. That’s a Ronaldo and Messi like price and is clearly not even worth considering. Even the top price available of 1.78(39/50) seems unduly lean. You’re much better waiting for the next away fixture where he scores just as frequently.
Even our usual favourites like Nir Bitton at 20/1 and Mikeal Lustig at 22/1 seem short, especially after they both scored in Amsterdam. Bitton has never scored twice in a row and Lustig hasn’t managed it in more than four years.
So with the value on Celtic looking all but evaporated it is time to bring Dundee into the reckoning and see what they can contribute to the mix.

Right now Celtic are conceding goals, from set pieces in particular. Dundee have an excellent scoring record this season drawing just the one blank away to Aberdeen. For the most part they have been relying on their 3 strikers but the defenders must have a chance on Sunday.
Excitingly, the prices on some of the Dee defenders to score are frankly outrageous, all things considered. In particular James McPake at 28/1 to score anytime with bet365 has great appeal. If he manages it would be his 3rd goal this season.
There are doubts over his fitness as he was withdrawn after just 22 minutes in last weeks match. If he doesn’t play his role is likely to be covered by Julen Etxabeguren. If he does he is worth backing at the same price with the same firm.
How could anyone dissuade anyone from having a wee pop at either to score first at 80/1 and 100/1 respectively. The 80/1 is also with bet365 while the 100/1 is available with William Hill.
If both men start the game I will be having a pop at both of them but make sure to wait for team news before placing anytime goalscorer bets. It would of course be a good idea to control your stakes.
