Where should Dundee lay their priorities for the next two games, in the league or the Scottish Cup?
Heading to Celtic Park with their top six fate still very much in the balance could they muster even a point it would be a big bonus for their top six ambitions. Their next game is the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox and a semi-final berth would be a big achievement for Paul Hartley.
Pep, as many Dundee fans have taken to calling him, will be no different to any ambitious manager plying their trade in Scotland. While finishing in the top six will be on his list of priorities a cup final and a trophy is the sum of all desires.
That means there may be some credence in the notion that Guardiola, sorry, Hartley will make a raft of changes for Wednesday night’s game . Who he rests is a matter of debate but Gary Harkins is likely to see some down time. Hemmings and Stewart should probably start but how long they last will depend on the game state after an hour or so of play.
Perhaps he is taking great heed in Dundee’s record at Celtic which is far from inspiring. It’s fifteen years since Dundee got a win here and in the two games in 2015 they shipped eleven goals without reply.
But even taking all that on board it’s hard to see what Celtic have done to justify such strong favouritism for this game. Favourites? Yes. Win? Most probably, yes, but it’s impossible to place much faith in handicaps at such short prices.

At a best price 1.18 (2/11) with Skybet I wouldn’t dare entertain the notion of putting Celtic in your coupon. Dundee are available at 18/1 with Ladbrokes while the draw is best priced at 6/1 with McBookie.
Celtic -1 has zero appeal at 1.5 (1/2) with Skybet, Paddy Power, Coral and Ladbrokes while -2 could be friendless at 2.3 (13/10) with Paddy Power. Even my favoured -2 Asian Handicap could do with more meat than the 1.85 (17/20) offered by McBookie. The opposing bet of Dundee +2 Asian Handicap could have legs at 2.05 (21/20) with McBookie but lots of changes would reduce any confidence.
Both teams to score is an avenue that many will go down but at a price of 2.15 (23/20) with Betfair it is a ship that has sailed having opened at 2.55 (31/20) on Sunday evening. Over 2.5 goals is hardly worth looking at, as likely as it is, at a best 1.44 (11/25) with Skybet and Coral.
