Celtic are on a high after beating Rangers by five goals to one.

Despite all the hyperbole surrounding that fixture the Celtic fans knew that it wasn’t even the biggest fixture they were facing in the next four days.

A trip to Camp Nou to face Barcelona is a daunting prospect and everyone at Celtic knows it. The last time they visited saw a 6-1 humbling meted out. That was arguably a better Celtic side with Van Dijk, Samaras, Ledley and Commons all playing a part.

But they also started with Ambrose, Matthews, Pukki and Boerrigter. Time has proven all of them to have been weak links. It is possible that this Celtic side could fare better than that one. It is even probable.

Barca have just gone down 1-2 at home to Alaves in La Liga. In a perverse way that could be the last thing Celtic will have wanted. The Barca fans demand more than any other club side in Europe. The players will expect to put things right on Tuesday evening.

While Celtic are on a high they will be facing a Barcelona side with a point to prove to their own fans. It is unlikely they’ll get trounced like they did in 2013 but a defeat is on the cards. But Celtic have something in the current teams armoury that could trouble Barcelona.

Brendan Rodgers side has real pace. Sinclair, Dembele and Forrest are lighting fast and all three are in good form. Then there is Tom Rogic who caused them no end of trouble in a substitute appearance in the ICC cup back in July.

The head to head stats also show that Celtic have scored in seven of the last ten competitive meetings against Barcelona. And boy are they in goalscoring form the now.

Barcelona are no higher than 1.1 (1/10) to win the game with Coral. Celtic are available at 35/1 with Marathon Bet. They are also best price for the draw at 15/1.

Backing Celtic to score has got real potential. Barca have conceded four goals in two La Liga home matches this season. Celtic to score +0.5 team goals is 2.45 (29/20) with Marathon Bet and should be considered.

You could take both teams to score at 2.5 (6/4) with bet365. Lets face it, the team unlikely to score is Celtic. If they score we are virtually guaranteed a Barcelona riposte.

Should they score it could come from the boot of Scott Sinclair who is 8/1 with Coral to score anytime. But I much prefer the price of 16/1 on Tom Rogic who is rarely shy of having a go from anywhere.

With all the 5-1 correct score coupons doing the rounds on twitter there are plenty of Celtic fans with a burning back pocket. These are a couple of tasty priced bets to try and invest a small portion of those winnings.
