Stranraer gave Ayr Utd a real scare in the first leg before a late, late goal levelled the tie.
That late equaliser will have been hard for The Blues to take particularly as they could, perhaps should, have been a few goals clear. Ayr Utd had their keeper, Greg Fleming, to thank for two big saves near the end of the game.
One of the saves led to a break upfield and the equaliser that Stranraer fans will rightly feel aggrieved about. But they are far from out of it and a trip to the antiquated Somerset Park shouldn’t hold too many fears for them.
The head to head stats show that they have won three of the last six meetings here although The Honest Men did win their two home games this season. All but two of the last six meetings have been decided by the odd goal and it’s likely that something similar is on the cards again.
Ayr will have to head into this game with a couple of suspensions after Ross McCrorie and Craig Moore picked up their second bookings of the playoffs. Moore is Ayr’s top scorer this campaign with fourteen league goals and will be a loss that could be hard to overcome.
Alan Trouten is likely to replace him and he is not a bad reserve striker to have to call upon. He hit double figures for Brechin City the last three seasons running but has only managed six league goals this term.

Both teams to score should have a chance again and not terribly short at a best 1.67 (4/6) with Coral. The price of 1.7 (7/10) from bet365 for +2.5 goals has a little less appeal.
