Albion Rovers v Cowdenbeath betting preview
Location: Cliftonhill Stadium
Date: 24th November 2015
This Scottish League One match was postponed three times due to a waterlogged pitch.
Since then the rain has eased off but heavy rain again forecast for Monday and Tuesday it looks at risk again.
Should the game go ahead it looks pretty certain that it will be played in poor conditions. There is plenty of rain forecast for Coatbridge on Monday and Tuesday and the pitch will undoubtedly be very heavy.
Heavy pitches tend to have a drastic affect on football matches. An inability to pass the ball soundly and the ball getting stuck in muddy patches and surface water tends to lead to a lack of goals.
Mind, there was a game there on Saturday and my guess is the pitch will be heavily churned up. Rovers tend not to see many goals anyway with just one of their last eight games seeing three or more goals.
The Blue Brazil are from a different mould of course coming off the back of a 7-0 battering from Peterhead. That’s thirty-three goals against now in their eight away games this season.
They had actually been turning in a bit of form having won two and drawn two of their last four games. This time last week I would have jumped on the William Hill price of 4/1 on ‘Beath.
One thing the rain can do is even teams out. Not that these teams are that far apart anyway. A win for The Blue Brazil would take them to within three points of Albion and the promotion playoffs.

Cowdenbeath are as high as 4/1 with William Hill to win the game outright. You can back them to score +1.5 goals at 2.75 (7/4) with Coral and bet365. With Albion not being the most goal laden of sides that to me would go close to being a winning goals tally.
Like I said, last week I would have jumped on that but on the back of Saturday’s result it looks like last week I would have been wrong.
For my money Cowdenbeath need to approach this game with one simple aim. Stop conceding so many goals. Luckily they are not facing the most prolific of sides in Albion Rovers.
That married to the heavy pitch gives the unders a chance in my opinion although I am prepared to be mocked if I call this one wrong.
