Aberdeen v Motherwell Betting Tips And Predictions
Date: 13th December 2016
Aberdeen have blown their chance to make good use of their games in hand to recapture second place.
They only needed three consecutive home wins and second place would have been guaranteed. It shouldn’t be beyond them having managed it regularly in the last two seasons.
With no disrespect to the other sides The Dons should be heading into the game against Motherwell with Rangers in their sights. Their budget is bigger and they have the players at their disposal. Although questions should be asked of Derek McInnes and how he utilises those players.
He is not getting the best out of his players at the moment. Rooney is off form, McGinn off form, Hayes blowing hot and cold, Shinnie played out of position, Maddison played out of position, McLean not hitting the required standard and he insists on playing Stockley. There are lots of questions.
Although Motherwell arrive here on the back of poor away form. They have picked up two points in seven away games. An away win at Kilmarnock is their only victory on the road. They also lost 4-1 on their last visit to Pittodrie so the signs don’t augur well for Mark McGhee’s side.
McGhee will also be in the stands for this one as he serves the last of his two game touchline suspension. As a result he will be sitting on his hands at the start of a very tough December for The Steelmen.
They have Aberdeen twice and away trips to St Johnstone, Inverness and Hamilton to come. Their first five games after the winter break are even worse. Points somewhere along the line are a must but those games guarantee them nothing.
Despite my reservations regarding McInnes and Aberdeen I can’t see Motherwell picking anything up here. Although I would be hard pushed to back Aberdeen at current prices.
